Our objective is to bring together musicians of a high caliber who love to play music and have a good time. We are looking for musicians who are strong readers, play in tune, and love to play. Our target group is accomplished musicians who have careers outside of music, music teachers that want to attend a “music camp for teachers”, college musicians, and professional musicians who want to play music for fun.
The orchestra currently performs 3 concerts a year in Ojai at Libbey Bowl. The orchestra is pursuing concerts in surrounding communities such as Santa Barbara, Ventura, Westlake, and maybe the Los Angeles area.
This is not a paid “gig” or orchestra. We want musicians that are here for the love of the music and for camaraderie.
There may be room to bring your own solo piece, or to improvise, though the emphasis is on ensemble pieces.
Suggestions for music are welcome. In fact, all suggestions are welcome.
